I have been on 4 tracks, although one several times, lol. I have never done better than 6th in a feature. Always dirt/mud. Southern Illinois here.
And also always been full-size. Even though my 6th came in a mid-sized Ford wagon

Pleasant Hill is a good place to go. I first went there with Tude (from WeCrash), and was amazed at the quality of cars. I remember driving through town and it seemed like there was a derby car in every other driveway! Good stuff!!
P.S. Cops are dicks!!

Yep, the big city of Pleasant Hill! What do you drive through there for being from N. IN?
I live and work in the St Louis area, but my family/friends/cars are all in P Hill
And yes, on derby night, there are state boys, county etc. The actual P Hill town cops are not bad at all! It's normally easy pickens for 3-5 DUI's for state boys so they like that

I got my "ticket" in Hardin by a local boy. Stopped me in front of a bar, and had a ton of fun with the locals while making my little boy cry. $300 later, CDL is fine and all is good.
Where abouts you live in the St. Louis area McKinnon?
Hell, what route you take to get to Pleasant Hill? I am always looking for a faster way!

Ah, Hardin. My wife's from Calhoun County... the cops can/are "less lenient" we will call it, to out of towners.
I live in Fenton, so I take 270 N to the Golden Eagle Ferry (Just north of St Peters) and drive through Calhoun up to P Hill. I used to go the other way when I went to school in Carbondale (you are in Belleville right?). If I were you I would take 255N to 67N, up through Carrolton. go West on 108, cross the Illinois River on the Kampsville Ferry (free), take 96W out of Kampsville to Mozier, then follow 96 north to Pleasant Hill. Don't speed on 108 or 96, county cops are waiting for you.
And if it's a good P Hill show, it'll get over late, then you will have to go South out of Kampsville down RT 100, then cross at the Hardin Bridge take HWY 16 E to Jerseyville and pick 67 up again.
The scenic route, of course, would be to go 270 to 370, get off in St Peters on the New Town Blvd exit, take the Golden Eagle ferry. For our fall show especially, I'd take this. The hills of Calhoun are actually kind of neat looking in the fall. In the spring and summer, it's just corn and LOTS of green trees. So if you're a fall leaf junky, I'd go through there in the fall.
All for now lol

See, the way I always go is through Alton & Grafton on the Great River Road. Then get on I guess 100? which takes you over the bridge into Hardin. It usually takes me almost 2 hours to get there. If it was all highway in some direction I could possibly cut it down.

Matter of fact I'll be there next weekend. I go right past pleasant hill everytime we go on our way to the bridge in Louisiana.

i run here in ontario canada. first derby was a full size, car was a POS, but it got me hooked.... after that ive ran mostly compacts just for ease of finding them ( i hate the rust belt lmao) but i did run a lumina in full size straight stock and got 2nd with it. best finish ive had... going to be switching to full size again this year as i have a connection to some southern cars
